Fortunately for Khorne’s army, their master didn’t care when the blood flowed. In fact, all Chaos factions (with one exception) will automatically go to war with any other factions they come across. There are no fancy archers, artillerymen or magic users here – Khorne’s demonic forces all want to savagely rush into their opponents’ lines and tear them to pieces.Īs an army of Chaos, Khorne won’t have too many friends among the other factions of Total War: Warhammer III. Khorne values grandiose close combat above all else, and as such, his forces are relatively simple. His army marches against the mortal world to shed blood for the blood god and collect skulls for his skull throne. The first of the four Chaos gods, Khorne is all about getting the blood flowing. Cathay won’t rely entirely on these spells, as their standard army is backed up by flying war machines, fireworks, giant terracotta soldiers, and their Legendary Lords, they turn into dragons.
Units with a Yin symbol will be buffed by nearby Yang units, and vice versa. This eastern empire relied on harmony among its armies, designated as Yin or Yang. The Great Bastion is the only place standing between Cathay and total destruction, so its defense is central to this faction’s campaign.
Inspired by real-world China, Grand Cathay defends itself from the impenetrable walls of Bastion, a massive fortress built to repel armies of the dark gods. Kislev is not the only human faction facing the threat of Chaos. Suffice it to say, the factions of Total War: Warhammer III have a huge impact on the game, and knowing each faction gives players an edge on the battlefield. This lore is also used to locate each faction appearing on the map, in addition to their diplomatic engagement. From the noble human defenders to the destructive forces of Chaos, each faction brings with it a unique gameplay based on the lore of Warhammer. This new installment will launch with seven factions, each introducing new units, spells, and campaign mechanics for players to join.
